Terms of Service
The terms that govern your use of Git Replica — what the service does, how you may use it, and the limits of our responsibility.
01 Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Git Replica (the “Service”), operated by GitReplica LLC (“Git Replica”, “we”, “us”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
02 The service
Git Replica mirrors and backs up Git repositories between supported hosting providers (currently GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket). You connect provider accounts via OAuth, define bindings between a source and a destination, and the Service replicates repositories automatically in response to provider webhooks or on demand.
03 Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.
04 Your accounts and authorizations
You access the Service using OAuth with your Git providers, and you are responsible for maintaining the security of those underlying accounts. You authorize Git Replica to access, read, and write the repositories and to manage webhooks as needed to perform the operations you configure. You represent that you have the necessary rights to the repositories you mirror and to the destinations you write to.
05 Acceptable use and content moderation
You agree not to use the Service to:
- store, transmit, or replicate content that is unlawful, infringing, or violates the rights of others;
- distribute malware or facilitate attacks, intrusion, or unauthorized access;
- mirror repositories you do not have the right to copy, or in violation of a provider’s terms; or
- disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service.
Git Replica does not pre-screen repository contents. However, we may investigate suspected violations and, at our discretion, suspend or terminate accounts, remove configurations, or disable syncs that we believe violate these Terms or applicable law. To report abuse or a copyright concern, contact [email protected].
06 Intended use and limitations
The Service is intended to provide redundancy, backup, and migration for Git repositories you control. It is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not currently offer a service-level agreement (SLA) or guaranteed recovery objectives, and the Service should not be relied on as your only backup mechanism. Replication depends on third-party providers and webhooks that may delay or fail outside our control.
07 Fees and plans
The Service is currently offered free of charge. If we introduce paid plans, the applicable fees and billing terms will be presented to you before you incur any charge, and may be governed by additional terms.
08 Intellectual property and your content
You retain all rights to your repositories and their contents. You grant Git Replica a limited license to access, copy, transmit, and store your repository contents solely as necessary to provide the Service you request. All rights in the Service itself — including its software, branding, and design — remain ours.
09 Service availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time, and we may change which providers and features are supported. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes where practical.
10 Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that backups will be complete or recoverable in every circumstance.
11 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GitReplica LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or USD 100.
12 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GitReplica LLC from any claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of others.
13 Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by disconnecting your accounts and deleting your data. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to comply with the law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification — will survive.
14 Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page and, where appropriate, provide notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
